Goodwork partners with major French civil engineering firm, COLAS, the world leader in road construction and fifth largest recycler in the world, to create a new sustainability brand for their Australian business.

Our country has over 350,000 kilometers of paved roads and more than half a million kilometers of unpaved roads — that’s why we’re helping Australia go from A to Better with safer, more sustainable roading solutions.

Introducing Safer Sustainable Solutions from COLAS – a new name in sustainability for the world leader in road construction. The Goodwork team have been busy working alongside the COLAS Australia Executive Team – building the sustainability strategy for the business, to eliminate, reduce, reuse and recycle waste while building and maintaining roads. Through the creation of five cornerstones, COLAS Australia is paving the way forward for sustainability. These cornerstones ensure that sustainability isn’t just another word to the business, but real work for the business. Together the cornerstones set the transformative targets for every company in the COLAS Australia group – covering safety, increasing the use of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP), recycling and using more recycled materials out on the roads, energy efficiency and reducing the use of kerosene cutter.

The Safer Sustainable Solutions brand is built from the idea of ‘opening the way to sustainability’. A nod to COLAS’ global tagline, ‘we open the way’, the idea positions COLAS as both the innovator and leader in sustainable roading – while acknowledging the continual sustainability journey the company has committed itself to. The brand introduces new tones and textures to the group, including two sustainability marks and an icon suite. One mark represents the unity of all companies in the group working toward a common goal and the second speaks to the positive direction the business is driving toward – while taking inspiration from the sense of movement in the COLAS logo. Company agnostic, the Safer Sustainable Solutions brand is designed to work alongside all companies within the COLAS Australia Group.

The sustainability logomark represents the unity of all companies in the group working toward a common goal and is designed to sit alongside the Colas logomark, as well as other companies within the group. The sustainability arrow speaks to the positive direction the business is driving toward – while taking inspiration from the sense of movement in the COLAS logo. It's a dynamic device that is utilised for Colas as well as other companies within the group, reflected by alternative colour combinations. The arrow extends further to form graphic motifs for various applications.
